i dont want to powder coat cause i dont want new seals and stuff since they're already rebuilt.

Interesting. I sprayed the flat black on my wife's old Camry and it held up for a couple years after (sold back in August). Cleaned, sanded, but I didn't prime. Sprayed about 4-5 light coats and was set.

you might want to go to homedepot and look into rustoleum high heat paint for bbq grills. The temp rating is up to 1200 degrees. Not sure if they have grey but worst case is you need to play with mixing black and silver aeresol together to get the shade of grey you want. spray a wet coat of silver on and when the paint is still wet, mist a thin layer of black so the two colors can blend into a shade you want. A bit of trial and error. Or if you can find it in pint size cans, mix it to a shade you want and spray it.

Rustoleum and Duplicolor both have an engine enamel. I have used both dozens of times on multiple vehicles. I've been in three relationships since paint and just started to get some chipping. It's been three years.
