My MAX.

I wanna start my build. This my maxima 2001 everything is stock. Well I just lowered it 1.4 in the front and 1 inch in the back.

Exterior
Get some rims 18" or 19". I really like the newer maxima rims
Some fog lights
Some window visor
Get some newer headlights Some HID
Smoke out the side makers

Engine
Maybe some intake filter
Sway bar
Optimum battery
Maybe paint the valve cover
That's all I could think of.

Interior
Keep it stock maybe change the interior lights to white.

only thing really worth doing to the 2000/2001 is a Y pipe, exhaust, and supercharger,
other than cosmetic, and handling.

2 things that should be on your list:

RSB (rear sway bar)
6th gen BBK in the front.

Other than that for suspension/braking the only thing worth the money is coilovers and better tires.

I guess some would say N/A build, but I dunno. You need to know how to tune and do it all yourself to do that cost effectively. If you're happy with the power I say just focus on the car's shortfalls, suspension and braking are 2 big ones.

I don't think 'just' a ypipe is really a worthwhile mod for any '99+ cali spec vq30/de-k...you aren't getting rid of the front precats, right?

Unless you're getting rid of the precats, I wouldn't. Precats are a bottleneck before the b-pipe 'kink'.

Depends on where you want to go with it though...getting rid of the precats means headers which is where you start getting more serious with bolt-ons.

How is your car lowered out of curiosity. I remember you said your brother lowered it recently. If it's those stupid spring clamps (u-bolts) get them off man. They can cause a lot of issues. It's worth getting lowering springs. You'll get a more uniform drop and spring rate. DNA springs are only like $75, that's what I have on my car right now. Not too shabby if you're on a budget.

Just my two cents, for whatever it's worth.

the Y pipe in the Cali spec cars gets rid of ONE precat, the one closest to the firewall.

worth it in spades. Repeat: gets rid of rear precat. this is the biggest bang/buck mod on the 95-01

i think he mention H&R lowering springs...i was looking at DNA springs but they only make 2" lowering spring...all i want it 1.5" drop...is a 2" lowering springs ride smooth or kinda ruff

So the opposing banks of cylinders are working unevenly? If anything, get the ypipe and GUT the front precat...

Yes, if you analyze it that way, but at the end of the day, It hurts nothing, and yields very significant power increase across the entire range. Plus keeping the front precat means no codes at all, no tricking the ecu, etc.

This is the exact reason why I went with Y pipe over headers, plus it's like a quarter of the work.

that sound like a great idea with the y pipe and at the end you can put a magnaflow to get a nice sound!

My 4th gen had normal exhaust manifold i believe the 5th gens do too so only precats is in the y pipe.

No.

00 and 01 could have, if they were fed spec.
00 and 01 could be Cali spec (most were), as ALL 02 and 03 Maximas are. One precat in the y pipe, one in the manifold

02/03 2 pre cats on manifolds and one after Y pipe
