Transmission Rebuild... HELP!!!

Alright Gents, it has happened. My transmission is shot. I have a 2K2 SE with 265K miles and the transmission (original) just went out on me. I want to have it fixed, any suggestions for places to go in Antelope Valley CA? I talked with AAMCO and they say worse case is $3K for rebuild with new valve body.

Any suggestions (affordable) are welcome!

From: all arond nyc and a bit of upstate
get a low miles used one to save yourself some money

even to get one of them shipped from east coast would come up to less than 2k
(there is a guy parting out a car with 72k miles in CT)

small mechanic shops would rate you in between 900 and 1700 dollars.
I remember one of the users getting a new 2001 5speed VLSD manual tranny from dealer for 1900. that was about 18 month ago

Here you go - part #3102088X0, web is http://www.nissanpartsasap.com

just go there and type/copy in the part number

I got a price of $2,370.00. That's for a brand new dealer item, never used
there are other online dealer websites

1stnissanparts.com - $1,838.85 plus 600 core charge, which you could return for less than 200 bucks

For what it's worth, I have never ever heard good things about AAMCO. You'd be better off googling reviews for other transmission shops in your area than letting AAMCO touch your car.

Werd.

Look around for a local shop with good Yelp reviews or ask in the regional section for a place.
