Back side near the firewall is the vehicle speed sensor. The reverse switch is at the bottom of the transmission and is a rather large diameter black plastic cover with a wires sticking out and wrapping itself around to the top of the transmission.

Sorry, I was thinking 5-speed. That would be the park neutral position switch according to the FSM diagram (seriously...it is).

its the neutral switch. i got it for $16 on nissanpartzone.com , its harness was $36 . when you put the tranny back in zip tie the plug for that sensor to a safe spot and dont put the switch back in till the tranny is in. you will need a 21mm wrench. a deep socket didnt work for me and i had to actually go buy a 21mm wrench..

im not sure what it does but i think its so the cruise controll cant go on while your out of gear. engine starts while in gear. i probally would have been ok without it. i only replaced it cause i though it was lockign me out of reverse...

one good tip for putting the tranny back in is to put it up to the motor with the axle holes to the bottom than than twist it in place before you attempt to slide in the input shaft....

i had pulled my tranny out due to throwout bearing going bad at 175,000 miles. i ended up doing full OEM clutch kit, rear main seal, reseal oil pan , 2 motor mounts , both axle seals, gutted all 3 cats, new oil cooler hoses, serpentine belt, thermostat and ECT sensor, new front rotors and pads all around, megan racing springs and full stereo upgrade with sub and amp... i wanted to make sure i didnt have to do any repairs for a while after this... than 2 nights ago colil #5 went out on me.....
