after getting my car together and putting a bit over 200 miles on it the rear main seal just went. I got it from Nissan and I didn't trust it from the start. I figuered. I would change it even though it wasnt bad. im guessing Nissan changed suppliers cause the new one had a smaller lip to hold the spring in place compared to the original one that came on the car.

when I installed it it went on nice and tight and I looked under to make sure the spring didn't pop out. the one they gave me just looked like it was designed poorly. now im considering a non OEM one.....

 

Sorry to hear that. I know that is frustrating.

 

I just replaced mine (about 500 miles ago). Also used OEM. I hope I don't run into problems...

 

I wish they designed it so you dont need to remove the oil pan. I hate having to deal with that oil pan again. it should be easier the second time around though.
