Been looking for the cheapest route to lose the wheel well gap. Looked at alot of springs. Tein, Megan, h&r so on.
I saw another guys thread recently similar but didnt wanna hijack. And I specifically am wondering about the ground control coilovers spring set to go on our oem struts.

Has anyone tried these? They seem to be the best bang for your buck from other things I've read any opinion helps

If you use with oem struts they're gonna blow em and long before that happens the car gonna ride like crap. Buy some Illuminas if you gonna go the ground control way.

 

Bro I heard they are hella stiff and will only work effectively with Koni sport shocks which given that expense you are probably just as good with coilovers.

I have them. No problems. If I had it to do again I would go with the Koni struts though, I went with the KYB AGX and they are great and should last long but it took awhile to find the right setting

 

User error.

They need to be paired with the correct struts. You can't just stick them on and drop the car all the way down. I had GC for quite some time. I actually still have a set kicking around I may install again soon. They ride just fine paired with shortened Konis.

 

Okay, so whats my best option to lower without replacing the oem struts?

 

You will have to replace the struts eventually so just wait until you can afford them. Tein H-tech springs have a mild drop and you should be able to install those and the OEM's last a month or two

I'm may be new to this forum but I can tell u from personal experience on my 94 Accord.

Ground Control sleeves aren't that great. Although you can pair them with decent shocks/struts and get decent results but it's better to save up a bit more and get better parts.

In the car world, you get what you pay for. With suspension there is no cheaping out cuz you're compromising handling and safety. Yea cheap coiliver sleeves will get you the look you want but it'll bounce like crazy and be really unstable. God forbid you hit a bump and your suspension gives out or causes you to swerve in the wrong direction.

:ninja edit: Lowering your car whether it be on cut springs (definitely don't do that), coil over sleeves such as ground controls, or even quality springs on stock struts/shocks is a no no. Stock parts weren't and aren't meant to handle any type of deviation from stock and will give out shortly after.
