Driver Clearance Lamp Not Working, Pass Light Works

Hey guys,

I've searched the forums and I haven't been able to find the solution to my issue. I'm driving an 01 AE 5spd. I'm not sure if the following issues are related, but I'm just mentioning them in case they are:

Issues:
-Driver Side Clearance Lamp not working. I've tested the Driver's side bulb on the Passenger side lamp socket and the bulb works fine. Removing and replacing 10A fuse marked "Tail Lamp" turns tail lights and Passenger side clearance light on and off (driver's side remains off whether or not fuse is in). I replaced this fuse and nothing changed.
-The previous owner put a larger bulb in than whats supposed to be in there and melted the plastic diffuser located in front of the bulb.
-Driver Side HID Lamp does not light up every time the headlights are turned on. I need to flick the headlights a few times to get it to work. Recently, it hasn't been turning on at all unless I flick the lights a dozen times. The bulb itself looks has more of a blue tint than the passenger side HID bulb.

I got a written warning for having no working lights in my driver's side headlight. There's alot of cops in my town that make traffic stops, and I'd prefer not to pay someone to fix the issue.

Does anyone have any insight on what I should check to get this clearance light working? Or to have my HID light turn on properly?

Thanks,
Rob

Hid problem might be the ballast if its not working all the time. And clearance light might not be good due to the previous owner melting the housing

The clearance lamp was getting 7V, instead of 12V. The functional clearance lamp was getting 12V so I just ran a 12V wire to the clearance lamp from the headlight, so that it only turned on when the headlight is on. I'm not sure why it was getting 7V, but the issue has been resolved.

I think the wrong headlight bulb is in the headlight that's not working...I'll just deal with it for now.

Thanks for your help.
