Alternator bottom bolt wont come out help!
So my alternator died on me the other night, bought a new one, belt etc. started taking everything off, got the compressor, idler, fans all out of the way, then as i get to the alternator i take the nut off the bottom bolt and now the bolt will slighty come in and out but only by about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch, how do i get this bolt off, ive tryed pliers WD, and nothing changed and there isnt alot of room to tap it with a hammer ether.. Its on an 02

Ive done 4alts on maximas. n everytime i find myself n a awkward position one arm on oposite side of downpipe hold that square cut with i think a 15mm wrench n other arm turning bolt. the nut will fall on ur face then you push alternator up and down and slowly slide bolt out.
first remove everything uptop then alt will silde down then remove bottom one. hard to explain bro prolly best read repair manual at azone or take ur time its not hard.

I had problems removing this bolt also. I tried turning from the top, turning from the bottom, tried using a power drill & nothing. I took it to my boy @ Mobil & he removed it in 2 seconds! All he used was a heavy duty socket & an extension. Your best bet is to see if Auto Zone has a heavy duty socket w/ extension you can borrow/rent or try a local repair shop. I paid only $5 to get the bolt removed.
