Low Idle issues after alternator replacement

Hi Im new to the forum and just picked up a 2003 Nissan Maxima 6spd . Two days after I purchased it the alternator went out. I replaced the Alternator with a new one went for a test and now once the car is warm it stalls at idle or when i release the clutch and allow the rpms to drop. I tried the relearn process and got blinking SES light and seemed to be done correct but still having the idle issues. Before changing the alternator this issue was not present it drove like a champ. Any Ideas on where to go next with this?

I have read alot about this on the forum and done see why I would need to clean the throttle body etc etc if it was running cherry before changing the alternator so im at a loss please help.

First two things that come to mind:

1. Bad grounding connection

2. Belt slipping

It's also not unheardof for you to get a bad alternator from Auto Zone type stores.

Haha how did you know I got it from the zone . Checked all my grounds but maybe a bad alternator but its putting out correct volts. I have never seen a alternator cause stalling issues but its possible can you explain this theory a bit further

Lack of voltage will shut the car off.......You can't just take a voltmeter to the alternator as that would give you the correct voltage, but when you apply a load to the car it will drop.

I tested the charging system with a midtronics battery tester and everything showed good. and yes the tester applies a load.

Try cleaning the MAF, there is a thread about that somewhere on here and see if that fix the problem. I don't think it could be the alternator if you did a load test on it but I could be wrong.
