Ok so it's kinda gay that the guy at raxle isn't redoing anymore maxima axles I called him twice he said he was losing money on them and he has discontinued making them which is gay as hell. Anybody speak to this guy recently? I need 2 raxles ASAP I'm tired of going through the oem ones like water

I'm on tein coilovers and i daily everyday plus i have a non LSD tranny so i have that long axle on the passenger side lol

 

I was lowered and pushing 270 whp and never had any issue with an OEM axle for over 50k miles, and still havent had an issue since I went back to stock...

if youre excessively lowered on coilovers you shouldnt be blaming the axles for your own poor choices

 

if you had ever seen an LSD tranny you would know the axles are the same length

i too have never had a problem with axles on my maximas. i can't imagine it's installation, because there's not much to it, but i've never had an issue with axles on all FOUR of my 4th gens, 3 of which were lowered, two of them slammed on coilovers and driven harder than most and with more power.

 

Same here. Im lowered on coilovers and the problem I was having was with after market axles. I've tried a hell of alot of different brands only to keep having unbearable vibrations. So my solution was to just rebuild 2 sets of OEM axles since they were the only ones that did'nt vibrate. I get my boot kits from Courtesy Nissan and takes about 20min a axle to replace the inner boots. The set I have on the car now has been on there for 8 months now and show no signs of hard wear. And from my understanding, raxles are built for power applications and when I called a few years back, he told me that on lowered cars they will preform like any other axle on the market cause of the cv boot deflection.

 

How the hell is that possible lmao im 100% stock stock clutch stock flywheel stock headers stock exhaust all i have is coilovers and wheels and i keep going through axles.. But only on the passenger side never the drivers side....

I would start raising your car up until you don't break axles anymore. Cars can only be so low and where you drive plays a huge factor. My teins were low in the front but now im raising them up after I blew a tein strut and the hassle I had to go through.

Id rather not go through the headache if I were changing axles that much.

 

no idea, axles seem to be something of a mystery with these cars. some guys have lots of trouble and others have none.

 

I raised it twice already i have it at a decent reasonable height i even swapped off my g35 coupe 18s for my lighter g35 coupe 17s to take the pressure off the axles until i get my hands on some raxles but doesn't look like that happening now lol

 

Why do you think raxles will solve your axle problem?

 

Ive read reviews on them said they hold up well my neighbor had a full bolt on 5.5 gen with jic coilovers way lower then me hes had raxles for 5-6years no issues so honestly thats good enough for me being that we basically have the same

Great news guys I spoke with Marty from raxle and he agreed to start doing maxima Axles again if people send him your OEM ones to him to rebuild. He redid mine and sent them to me already ill post pics when I get them

Car rides 10000000000000 better kinda picks up a little quicker as well I highly recommend these axles if you daily ALOT like I do... Raxle is the way to go

 

you have a 5th gen or 5.5 and how the hell did you convince him to do it?! OEm axles seem to last the longest.

 

Okay, I am sending them my old oem axles to rebuild. Unfortunately, those of us with 6 speeds really need to go new oem, rebuilt oem or go home.

 

Lmao! Yea i had big issues with the passenger side axle clicking no matter if its new or used i went raxle theres no noise at all.

 

You realize there is a really good reason the axle on one side is wearing out prematurely and the other isn't, i'd say it isn't the ride height or they both would be wearing out.

you sure there isn't a miss alignment or imbalance in the wheel or problem with the part of the tranny where the Axel slides in to?

EDIT: saw the post above me but, surely after trying several axles something is up.

 

It was the ride height i had the coils all the way down but i raised it up to take the load off the axle pretty sure these should last me quite a while

That is incredible news. How much was he charging for the rebuild of both? I had a called a few months ago and was also let down at that time.

FYI I am lowered as low as I can go on Tein Street Advance and I have read the same where the Raxles are the way to go for such application. If once I go Raxle and if I eat those then I will raise up a little. Till then I will continue to enjoy the low ride.

My oem axles are not bad but I am not ok waiting for them to break on me. When I replaced the tranny I went aftermarket and they broke or should I say exploded a week later so I went back to my OEM. 165,000 miles is too much on original axles imo especially since I am lowered.

Raxles here I come.

 

i mis read the part about you having a 2000. Called today and he only makes the 2002 driver side. He is not even willing to do my passenger side if I send him my oem old one. He said the tri pod design is what messes it up.

 

what makes the raxles different than stock/oem?

 

doesn't matter, their no longer produced. i got napa, no issues and 200.00 bux both sides lifetime warranty. 3 years old
