There is some justice in this world
Scumbag repeat drunk driver who ran a light and totaled my first Maxima got 7 years of real prison time. He was arrested at the scene and charged with DWI felony repetition (which means he has at least two prior convictions) and had a BAC of .216. Hit the front of my car (t-bone) with an F-250, his insurance stopped counting at $12k damage, mine stopped at $18k. Both said the damage might exceed what the car cost new, if my car was able to be properly repaired at all.
Glad to see the courts here are starting to take drunk driving seriously. Took a while for the case to get through the system but they lowered the boom on this guy pretty good.

Good.
Washington State is starting to crack down a bit as well...after a plethora of deaths in a short amount of time. I hope we have the most Draconian drunk driving laws in the country.
just checked your sig - 2 and a half years

Its good that you finally got some sense of justice!
Yeah, the time frame is absurd. This is why some can be arrested for their 3rd or 4th DUI and never seen the judge for the first offense.
Thanks for the update Scott.

Still detailing cars, been super busy. Thought about snagging another 6 MT 5.5 gen but it sold before I was able to contact the owner. Haven't seen one come up locally since. All automatics with really high mileage.
2004 Accord EX-V6NV now. Other than a blown strut and a couple engine mounts, its been 57,000 trouble free miles. Definitely as quick as my 4AT 5.5 gen but the 6MT would kill it. But 30-32 mpg freeway is definitely nice for a V6.
The RSX wheels are 9 pounds less EACH than the OEM wheels. 16 pounds vs 25 pounds. Noticeably improved low speed acceleration and braking.

Glad you are okay, and that the drunk got what he had coming. Here in San Diego County, anyone caught driving drunk (even for the first time) with a BAC of 0.2 or above is automatically ordered to get a SCRAM device - an ankle bracelet that measures their alcohol 24/7 from the moment they are arraigned. They can't have a drop of booze, driving or not driving. Even Listerine, Nyquil, etc will land them in the clink!
