anyone have a FULLY stripped 5.5 gen?
just wondering what else could be stripped, i have all the sound deandening gone, headliner gone, all the seats gone, speakers, sub amp and wiring gone,no a/c, no condenser, shorter belt, no fan blower box, only things left are, heater core, driver side door panel, dash itself with only cluster wheel and airbags, center console shifter trim, drivers seat. im not 100% sure but from what it seemed like i stripped probably close to 500 lbs all in all. has anyone every weighed a fully stripped maxima aswell?

Not a stripper , but you could go for plexiglass windows I'm sure.
The carpet has about 20lbs of black tar underneath it on 4th gens..I wouldn't be surprised if your did too.
People use dry ice and a hammer to chip it all away.
Pics please.

all of that black sound deadening is gone, and yeah weighs quite a bit, only wierd part is that there are small little holes from the manufacturer its kinda wierd, i wanna rivet a piece of metal to cover it, something light obv :P trying to add alot of power with the most minimal amount of weight possible

spare tire is the only other thing you could remove. i dont think that would all add up to 500lbs though the back seat cushions, door panels, speakers and all that stuff weigh nothing. as in it would shave quarters of a second on a quarter mile time. i would guess all of that stuff you listed is 250lbs MAX, more like 200lbs.

all 4 seat belts and their retaining brackets weighed 50 lbs alone, a/c compressor about 20, atleast 20 lbs of sound deadening, speaker, tweeters, sub and amp with all the wiring another about 15 lbs, carpet 15-20 lbs, passenger seat 50 lbs for sure, rear seats and retaining bracket for them another 50 lbs atleast headliner with all the brackets 10 lbs + about 40 lbs from wheel weight reduction and more!!!

I just had to take the bottom and top rear seats out my car to install my stereo system just a week ago. The bottom part of the back seat doesnt weight that much at all...the 2 top portions of the rear seat are significantly heavier but not TONS. I dont think you can do TOO much weight reduction on a 5th gen Maxima, the 4th gens are lighter but still its a full sized 4 door sedan. If you want to build a car for weight reduction get a Civic Hatch and gut it. Even a FULL weight Civic will weigh less than a totally gutted Maxima. I used to be all about the light weight thing but have come to enjoy the luxuries and speed that the car offers and not willing to sacrifice that.
Are plexiglass windows street legal? Can you do that and pass inspection (if your state/city has them)?

the passenger seatbelt bracket and housing is quite heavy aswell, with all of them added up thats what they weigh, as for the rear seats its not just the bottom cushion, its the back rest and every bolt with it

Pillar trims, though not much.
Headliner?
Do you have a sunroof? If so remove sunroof glass & motor, replace with plexiglass or sheetmetal.
Remove windshield washer system.
Remove windshield wiper system.
Do you 'need' power steering system?
Remove rear doors and sheetmetal the area.

I'm not the one in the video and I'm not promoting street racing in any way, but here is a fully stripped, all motor 5.5 gen beating a 400whp bmw 335i... when you take off some weight, these maximas are QUICK!
The maxima in the video is about 2700lbs
