Does anybody have a STOCK shift boot to DONATE?
Check this thread for more info on how we can get new shift boot and possibly an e-brake boot in ANY of 50+ colors:

We just need someone to SACRIFICE their boot for it to be patterned after.

I would be interested in *coughing* up mine. But would they give some type of discount (Like no charge shipping since I have to ship them mine?) because they are keeping mine? Man I hope someone in OK goes there so we can get and e-brake boot. Might give it a bit more class.

Anyways, the sooner you send it to the address the sooner we can get the NEW boots. Damn it's going to be hard to pick one color out of 50.
I hope to get matching shift boot, e-brake boot, and maybe even the armrest cover like that 4th gen. on the website looks hot. Eventually, I'm going for the 2-tone seat-covers.
What color do you like? What color is your interior?

It's real simple.
Long Route: Remove shift ****. Remove screw inside ashtray. Then just grab inside the shifter hole towards the back and pull up. There is a snap that lets go. Then just pull up where you feel resistance to pop the rest of the clips. Just to let you know there are TWO electrical plugs(hazard button and ashtray light) on the bottom you need to detatch once the console is loose.
Short Route: Remove shift ****. There is a square/rectangle METAL ring sowed inside the bottom of the shift boot. It is held by "mouth shape" snaps around all sides of the shifter hole. If you pull inward from these snaps by tugging on the boot it SHOULD let go. Then just fish it out through the hole. I haven't proven this yet, so it may not work. You know the usual type of directions I give, more theoretical than actual, but sometimes they work.
Let me know when you can ship the boot, so I can let Eric know.

I will be installing my shift light this weekend so I will pull out the boot at the same time. I am using your instructions for the shift light and hope that goes extremely smooth...

I got a home brewed shift light from Harlan in MI. Its 1" diameter and 3" long. When I am done modifying it (taking the guts and putting them in the dash) the lamp portion will be only 3/4" deep so it will be much less noticable from the outside. I hooked it up at lunch and the light is CRAZY bright (I got red). 5 high intensity LEDs. If I miss the light going off, I must be already dead.
Best thing about it is its all dynamic. Adjustable from 500 RPM to 12,000 RPM in 100 RPM increments and for 2/4/6/8 cyclinders. All programing (5 minutes worth) is all done by 2 buttons and a 7 position dip switch.

Let me know how you like it. I don't really care for mine too much. Its 200rpm "pills" aren't precise enough for what I need.
