2003 maxima e brake help
ok i have recently replace all 4 calipers rotors and pads on my car i have some tech knowledge but i cant seen to figure this one out guy after installing everything my e brake will not get tight or hold the car i see that the cable at both brakes are moving and wanting to go but just aren't i tried tightening the cable all the way still no help i will get them to make light contact and barley hold i bleed the brake now three time and still no help idk what i'm missing but help will be greatly appreciated
How far are the cables moving? It is a common issue on the 5/5.5 gens that the ebrake cables seize up. Typically people report that the ebrake a wont fully release and pads wear quickly. Yours seems to be the opposite issue.
The cable looks like they bottom out all the way. Idk what wrong these caliper are from power stop I just don't know what going on now never seen this happen before they work prior to the change and now nothing
I bought new rear calipers (thought that was originally my issue - was cable) but, I found that one of them had a faulty e-brake mechanism. It would rotate, but never engage the cylinder. That would be the final necessary test, IMHO. Jack up one or both side tires. Pull ebrake and see if calipers engaging at all. If not, remove calipers and ebrake line, not the brake fluid line. Rotate the ebrake mechanism by hand. If there continues to be little to no movement and/or it rotates extremely easily...then the mechanism is faulty.
