Code p0400
I got a 2000 maxima GLE, My SES light came on and I went to the auto parts store to get the code, I got a P0400(egr error), does this mean I have
to change my egr valve. or just get it clean. Also my key fob is not working, I put a new battery in it, clean it,etc. its still not working. is there a fuse I need to check to fix this or do I need a new key fob.

The P0400 code has several possibilities.
* EGR passage clogged
* EGR volume control valve stuck closed
* EGR temperature sensor and circuit
* Harness or connectors (EGR volume control valve circuit is open or shorted.)
* Exhaust gas leaks
Check the wires, this is the time of the year where critters get up under the hood to stay warm after you park the car. Then check the tube between the EGR valve and the cylinder head that it is not plugged up.
Read the FSM if those 2 things are OK. Section EC starting on page 405.
