I'm not aware of anyone who has successfully installed 5gens into 5.5gen bumper. Completely different size housings and lenses.

Glass lenses are prone to crack under certain conditions. Such as: if you run them often and they get hot- specifically if you run HID, particularly the 55w versions. should run 35w H3c bulbs (shorty). If you live in an area with lots of road debri can also result is cracks.

You can get plastic protective film cover specifically cut for the fogs.

Now, having said all that. It has been discussed that the newer Pathfinder fogs (clear lasting lenses) do fit te 5.5gen Max. I'm not sure the extent of modification necessary, but it looks like they are 95% identicle. Of course, that 5 percent can make all the difference. You can look at and pick up a pair for the '04 or '06 Pathfinder fogs off eBay.

Just do an advanced search first here on the forums for the threads addressing the Pathy fogs.
