I have only seen GEXs without it. I have always thought all SEs and GLEs come with standard with it.

What is the difference between the SE and the GXE then? The SE came with the manual transmission?

SE come both MT and Auto. (I own both) GXE usually comes with less "sport" options... IE no spoiler and the old man wheels. I am pretty sure that the trim levels are different in the US and Canada. I have never seen a Maxi without a sunroof in Canada. And have never seen an SE 5.5 without leather, only GXE without leather.

Not sure what seperates the SE's from the GXE's. The suspension is supposed to be stiffer, struts are different (my '01 SE has Tokicos stock), from what I understand. 17" wheels, sway bars are 1mm bigger. I dont think I've ever seen an SE with woodgrain, but somebody out there probably has it. LOL

Rarely produced models or perhaps dealer "upgrades" can cause stuff like this. I'm sure its not hard to replace the badges. I'm assuming you could look up the Vin and tell for sure. I've only seen very few Maximas that don't have sunroofs period.

My '02 SE has no sunroof, manual climate control, and cloth seats. Like somebody else has said, SE's have standard Tokico shocks, a spoiler, 6 spoke 17" wheels, and a 1mm thicker sway bar.

I have seen a 5.5 GXE before. They are pretty rare, but they have no fog lights, no spoiler, and 16" 5 spoke wheels that are similar to the 4th gen SE wheels.

I think the only ones with leather door inserts are the ones that have the heated mirrors and memory seat buttons on the door

Digital climate controls are not something you want to attempt to do.way to many parts and harnesses to do and sensors inside and out

Mine does have manual climate controls and unheated, cloth seating, though.

Meridian on an SE also required the BOSE option and to get Meridian on an GLE you also had to have the standalone TCS option.
Was the heated seats part of the Meridian package or leather package?

So if the Maxima I got a hold of has heated everything, leather seats, digital hvac unit, bose system, sunroof, alloy rims etc. Is it the most fully loaded Maxima you could have bought in Canada at the time? I think automatic was a option too so even that was extra $$$$

Yes it has the TCS on/off button but I always keep it off ...

My friends SE with cloth seats, no bose, and no sunroof.

SE gives you the spoiler, the 17" wheels, the 23mm sway bar, the tokico shocks, and the silver face gauge cluster.
