Ok, AH give me the stupeid reason you have come up with to run a wider wheel in the back on a fwd car. And don't get upset.
But the widest you could clear the whole way around would be like a 9.5 with a 255 with a small trim job. NO trim job--9 with a 245. Course you could still run a 255 and just listen to it rub slightly when the suspension bottoms out.

Mine are 19x8.5 with 245 tires ... never rubbed

So are mine. And when you hit a huge dip you don't see they rub slightly no big deal though.

seriously, they have never rubbed. I haven't taken a huge hit from a bump/dip but hard turns, speed bumps, dropping one side completely off the pavement at 40 mph ... not once have they rubbed.

Do you know what offset your wheels are (including spacers if you have them)?

Max'n out and ispeed: The difference is almost certainly in what offset you guys are using. ispeed's wheel offset allows him to run those tires w/o rubbing, but max'n out's wheels' offset moves them a bit closer to some interference point (probably the strut or sway bar or something).

Yes I know what they are. And you can't jump on that excuse since you don't know. The difference is that he has never hit a dip in on the highway like I have. It takes alot.

I appoligize for jumping on you like that, I had a frustrating day, and I'm tired of seeing people jump on a certain take on things without knowing the whole story.

Actually, after posting I was worried as heck that my "oh" would be misconstrued as "oh please!"
when actually I meant "oh, okay."If I made cars I'd either put on seriously wide tires to begin with, or be darn sure to make it real easy to! ("See page 347 of your owner's manual for guidelines on fitment of 305/30R19 tires on your vehicle...")

no i haven't taken a huge hit. the only thing that might compare is having to run the car off the road with both the front and rear dropping off ... it was hard enough that i pulled over to check the rims and the car out, but it didn't rub ...

I don't have a page 347? Your saying the manny says we can put a 305/30-19 on? I gotta see this now!
Might have to get some new wheels and tires
