can you id this hose ?

had a mechanic put a dryer / compressor in my car on Thursday.
On Sat when the ol lady pulled the car out I noticed there was a clear slightly thicker than water liquid on the ground, had no particular smell knor taste. Could it be refrigerant?

I looked under when she got home and this metal thing, I presume hose is just dangling there and doesn't feel like its attached to anything in the rear either. Can you tell from the pics what it is?

If thats where I think it is, its the cable for the ABS/traction control sensor. On my car the cable is connected to the shock by rubber grommets

That metal one is ? Would that cause a clear liquid to come out ?

I can't tell from the photo, it's too close-up for me. Sorry.

But air conditioning refrigerant doesn't drip, it evaporates so rapidly that it never has the chance.

Size: 98.8 KB pulled it out and this was it. Wasn't attached to anything. Do you think I just pulled it off the road or was it attached to something ?

I think it is road junk. If it belonged in the car, something wouldn't be working.

Looks like a piece of break line which may also explain the thicker than water clear like fluid you described. Probably picked it up on the road while driving maybe.

Looks more like a metal wire. Mechanics use them to hold up parts once they are removed. Like pumps or alternators or brake calipers. It doesn't look like something from under the hood.

Yes....

and this has begun to become a problem.

Please people, don't take a photo while 0.012mm from the item in question. And please give some details as in the general area from where it's at.

Old piece of brake line....either from a mechanic in a previous time using it to hang parts, like brake caliper from the spring coil, or you picked up road junk, or it could be a piece of the OEM brake line if the person had it replaced.
