I want to replace the speakers in my GXE. Anything special or difficult about doing this? I want to replace the ones in the doors and the tweeters. The guys at Best Buy say I have to bypass the amps(?) & they want approx. $350.00 to rewire plus the cost of the speakers! Has anyone done this?

You only have to bypass the amps if you have BOSE. If you have no BOSE, then there are no inline amps. If you get new speakers for the doors, you may need to keep the mounting brackets that the stock speakers are on and use those to hook up the new speakers. I am not sure if they sell mounting brackets for the 2000+ Maxima.
