KYB Strut-Plus

Hi,
I am wondering if anybody in this forum has tried to install the KYB Strut-Plus on their Maxima.
I know you get the structs separately and get it install by a mechanic but why do that when it can be a DIY for a day
see the link below by KYB

http://www.kyb.com/products/strut-plus/

Please let me know.

Thanks

Re. the strut-plus, it looks like you can't buy and install yourself. I just tried and failed. They want you to have all the work done at one of their dealers.

However, you can buy the plain strut and install it yourself (or have it installed). I did that, and I am happy with how the GR2 rides - very much like the OE struts did on my 2000 SE.

Monroe has a strut-plus that people like you and me can buy from places like RockAuto.com.

Why wouldn't you be able to install them yourself? Complete struts are much easier to install than struts alone IMO. All you need are basic hand tools vs. needing a spring compressor which can be dangerous to those who don't know how to use them properly.

My father recently purchased the Monroe quick struts from RockAuto for his '03. I'll be installing them this weekend hopefully. Those KYB strut-plus look to be the same thing basically. You shouldn't have any issues with the install.

Thanks Guys,
I just thought this should be a easy DYI project for the weekend.
Like these Guys,
I saw they used monroe but I'd rather use KYB. maxiiiboy, I'd like to know why you failed, just wanted to get an idea of what to avoid or watch out for.

Bottom line save a whole lot of $$$.
