Sorry if this is a stupid question, but in my 2k2 GLE, there's a little matchbox-sized device with a red LED on the front of it; it's attached just below the dash right about at the level of my waist as I'm sitting in the driver's seat. It's just above where my right shin is as I'm sitting there and also has a wire coming out the back of it connected back to the engine. Is this part of the alarm system?

sounds like starter-kill to me. Should have a "key" if it is.
