I was searching through the salvage yard today for some parts on my diesel truck and I noticed an '02 Maxima still sitting on all 4 wheels. I remember seeing on this forum that guys have swapped the 3.0 for the 3.5? Is this a complicated swap to do? The '02 still has the 3.5 in it. Not sure of mileage because someone ripped the guage cluster out of it. Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

 

Look around for 3.5 swap how tos. Its the same process for the 5th gen as it is for the 4th gen.

 

If you are gonna swap the 3.0 for the 3.5 don't forget to swap the ECM too. Since they are programmed differently than the 3.0

 

You obviously haven't read any of the 3.5 swap threads.

I swear I saw a really detailed swap thread around here about 6 mos ago or? Eh, I could be wrong.

 

I'm just curious if it is an easy swap for a winter project...
