y-pipe question

hello everyone,
I just put a stillen intake into my 2000 GLE auto, and the next thing I'm getting is likely to be a Cattman y-pipe. For those of you who have this, I have a few questions:

1) What is the hp increase exactly? I hear it's 15-25, but that's rather broad. What should I expect?

2) I hear there is no noise increase. Is that true?

3) How is the performance increase? Low end? High end? I really want to improve my acceleration from 60-130.

When I get the y-pipe and my speed limiter removed, I post what my car maxes out at (that is if I can max it out--I hear it goes 160 easy) anyone done this?

1. Search is your friend. Oh… and… FAQ-U!

2. HP increase? Closer to 15 than 25.

3. There is a noise increase, but it’s a good one. Very subtle. A little rumble at idle and some grunt at WOT. Nothing ricey. I don’t even notice it anymore. (about 6K miles later…)

4. If you’re looking for gains from 60-130, you’ll love the Y-pipe. That’s its specialty. My car gets up to 100 (and beyond) a LOT quicker.

5. Go get it!

From what I understand, Jet makes a piggy back ECU that will increase your performance and remove your speed limiter for about $400. Haltech makes a really sick ECU for $1148 that must be carefully tuned. Also, rev-industries.com has a apexi rev/speed meter gp that will do the trick for $200.

I hope you are talking about 160KM/H because no Maxima will do 160MPH! A 5-spd may do 140MPH at the extreme (you will need LOTS of room)and an automatic will max out at 125-130.

No, I mean 160 MPH. What do you mean an auto will max out at 125-130? All I have done to my gle is a stillen intake and my car pulls hard up to 130 and then cuts out, slowing me down. I have to hold it at about 127 to keep from being slowed down by my engine cutting.

I've read in a few places of Maximas with just intake and a y-pipe, that will go above 150 MPH (that is without the speed limiter). If the y-pipe doesn't cut it for me I plan to get an ECU upgrade.

Am I wrong?

Am I right or wrong here?! Is a maxima with an intake, y-pipe, and no speed limiter capable of going 160 MPH?

I've read that it is, but I don't personally no anyone who has gone that fast in a max. One thing I know for sure is that my car does not max out at 130; it just cuts out.

For those of you who think I'm a phycho for wanting to go 160, keep in mind that I have S-03 tires capable of going 150+, and I plan to do this on a open road racing track in Nevada. I'm just an adrenaline junkie looking for a good rush.
