This needed after NWP plate?

Hello I'm installing my NWP Vias block off plate and I'm wondering if that black cylinder/canister with 2 hoses connected is needed after the install? If so what's it's function? Thankyou!

Hmm what I did was...

The hose(s) going to where the block plate is got removed and capped but the black canister and that other tiny part stayed. No CEL

A correct, non-troll response?

You can delete the canister. You will have a vias readiness code but it does not trigger a cel.

I got it just that black canister I'm confused on it's function. It has the center tube which is a vacuum line from the intake then the other goes to the black sensor box.
