Sad to say but a deer wanted to ride shotgun in my 2000max and he got it.
I have full Coverage but i'm a realist, it's a 2000 max, no way they are going to pay to fix that.

I got a 2014 max from the rental company and I honestly don't like it to even consider it as an upgrade to purchase for another car.

What suggestions on another car you guys think would be a good buy for around $15k,m obviously not band new.
I'am looking at the Lexus GS or the Acura RL. I want a 04-06 Lexus Ls but someone said no ---->…My wife want a truck(ish) kind've vehicle so maybe the Jeep Cherokee?
I know I wasn't a heavy posted on this forum but it was great being a part of this community and I will miss it assuming don't get another max.

Get an 02 max, and a 350z, you can get two cars for $15k, I would warn against any type of jeep, they are not reliable, Toyota, Lexus, honda, and nissan, I know to all be good reliable cars

So sad to see another 5th gen get taken out. Glad you weren't hurt. If not a truck what about a wagon? For example: 2006 Audi A6 $13,921 with 95,323 miles in zip code 30601.

Glad to see you're ok! Unfortunate this had to happen.

Im gonna give you a biased opinions on RL's tho...Since i had my first maxima and sold it 5 years ago....iv been thru about 20 cars. My RL was amongst my favorite. What years do you prefer of the RL? Im strictly a 00-04 guy. If money isnt an issue an 07+? is real mean done properly.
My vote on a 04 RL if you can find one. Vip that bissh out.

Damn, that sucks. Unfortunately, another one is done for.

Have you considered a used G35 or 37?

Thanks guys it does suck, but i'm now playing the waiting game to see what they wil do and how much they will give me. So that will determine how much i have to spend and what I can really buy. My wife don't like wagons so we will see what happens. Whatever I get I will post it here..

I am glad you are ok. Poor Maxima. Decide what you and your wife want from the new car and go from there.

Yeah just horrible timing, School starts back next week so I need to get a car asap.
I just put 2 brand new tires on the car, alignment, Just ordered a master window switch, new power steering line, illuminated door sills, Custom Headlights (projectors, HID) rotors, painted 2 years ago, whole car sanded and buffed.. Ugh.

I don't know if I would buy another Maxima, are the 03 Maxima still have oil issues?
Again, I will tell you guys how much the insurance company will give me IF they don't fix it.

Glad you are OK man and sad to see a max take such a blow. My buddy hit a deer in his brand new fusion a few months ago, he told me he was so pissed he got out the car and kicked the crap out of the deer and it made him feel better. The 3rd gen TL is nice in 6 speed only, auto sucks. They are in your price range as well if you look around.

Thanks a lot people Yes i was grateful that I wasn't hurt as it was a pretty big deer that I hit, But want to bring people who are on this tread up to speed.

I recently purchased a 2011 link here : https://maxima.org/forums/7th-genera...ml#post8981407

Sorry for the loss of the Max.

I'd suggest one of the following as a replacement...
5.5 max with a 6 speed
g35 sedan(2007-2008 with the HR motor and 6 speed)
Pontiac G8
e46 Bimmer

edit: NVM I see you got a 7gen

Collect the money from the insurance! Then buy the car back from them for under $800 and fix it. Looks like you only need a hood, grill, bumper retainer and headlight. Hard to tell if the upper core support is damaged or not.
