I put new axles in a couple months back, the drivers side started making a "wicka wicka wicka" noise which I determined was the axle. So I replaced drivers side, took it for a spin, noise was gone, on way back, come to a stop, give it gas and "ping!!! Grrrrrrrrrr......" Won't move, dead. Is my maxima done? Any ideas on a rebuild?? Ugghhhh

 

did you put the right axle in it? worked on an I30 once where someone put the wrong axle in and eventually stripped the splines in the trans where the axle goes in. ended up needing a new trans but could be what happened to yours

 

or quite simply...your axle popped out. its happened to me making the car non-drivable till it was popped back in.

 

Popped out thats all you didnt give it any rubber mallet love
