Better weight distribution and would open up huge space for optimally-tuned intake?

That would require way too much work in running a 1ga wire to the trunk. And also building a tray for the battery, a way to hold it tightly.

Too much work. No need to remove the battery to get the best intake, right now the best intake is the Place Racing CAI. I mean cant get any better than that since the air filter is outside the hood and behind the wheel well and getting the coldest air possible.

Some people have ADDED batteries in their trunks for their high-end aftermarket stereos, but that still required work.

i did

i agree.. alot of work.. well.. not all taht much work.. relocating the battery to the trunk can cause extra strain on the alternator.. imo i'de leave it in the front.. but i moved it back for security purposes and also i'm doing a comp sound system..

You can pm sinewave and I think that he has a write on how to do it, and if not I am sure that he will email you some info on how it is done!

Can't be harder than all the NOS installs going on

Yeah, try sinewave. He and a few others moved the batt back there for better weight dist.

what's the problem with the weight distibution on the maxima??

this is my thinking, but since it's a front wheel drive car wouldn't you want more weight on the front for better hookups?

Well, for acceleration from a standstill, yes. But above 10MPH, you want the best balance from front to rear for handling purposes since accleration traction is not an issue.

Just like 2k2se6spd said. Especially for repeated accel & braking. You can really feel that extra 800lbs+ difference when transitioning.

Try the same in an IS300 and you should be able to feel the difference.

alright, that's a good explanation. didn't think of weight transfer like that.

i guess there's going to be different ways to balance the car out, like maybe just adding weight to the back while keeping the weight up front also for hookups. but eventually just adding weight would slow you down. cool, stuff, gets me thinking about how the car handled when i had my system in.
