Help picking new muffler

Ok guys, I need help picking a new muffler. I have a stock 2K1 SE. Which one would you guys go with, This one or this one?

I'm looking to save some money because I have few other things that need replacing as well. Thanks in advance for the advice.

I got a stainless steel catback from OBX for 200 bucks, high flow system came with a long resonator and muffler, all stainless free DIY bolt on installation, do not buy aluminized itll rust out very shortly. Gone through quite a few of those junk a waste honestly.

I've got a Magnaflow 14816, no complaints so far. There are pictures of it on the car in the 5/5.5th gen picture thread! Cost me $150 for the muffler.

Thanks for the advice guys. Sounds like the consensus is to get a stainless steel muffler.

@Jprocs24, where did you buy your muffler from for $150?

Oh and is that a direct fit or did they have to do some welding?

I actually bought it off another local enthusiast. It wasn't a direct fit as this one had a center hook-up while our cars are off to the side. They have to remake the exhaust pipe from the muffler to over-the-axle... That cost $110 to mount and fabricate. Total cost was $260... I'd suggest for that price just going cat back of some-sort.

I didn't realize it wasn't a direct fit haha, my mistake (didn't do enough research).

I think I'm going to go with this
muffler muffler
because it's a direct fit and is stainless.

this one comes with the SE muffler tip so it doesn't look like those cheapo replacements

That's exactly what I had replaced, same amount of piping (to the flange).

@Mateen995, yeah but it isn't stainless. I'm not sure how it's attached, but was thinking I could use the cover off the old one.

@Jprocs24, are you saying you replaced that one because it rusted out or are you say you just upgraded to something better?

@cornholio, thanks for the tip because my mechanic isn't an exhaust guy. That's another reason why I wanted it to re a direct fit. That and the fact that I also am replacing the resonator.

I replaced the muffler because it was rusted out badly. I replaced the piping from the axle-over because it wasn't a direct mount. Flange rusted out and apparently they thought it was a good idea to do a direct weld on...

Basically replaced rusted out muffler and decided to upgrade a little while I was at it.

Thrush sounds really good too. Theyre not stainless but a nice thick gauge of metal.

I have this one and its good quality, but not stainless. I had the tips cut off and replaced with nicer magnaflow tips.

That's weird, it's now pointing to ebay instead of amazon.
This is the muffler I got. This is the muffler I got.
The only problem with ordering this muffler is slow shipping/processing time. I was hoping it would get here so I could have it installed over the weekend.
