yet another question about valve covers

Awhile ago there was a lot of discussion about using the 2004 version of the valve covers because they were significantly cheaper and presumably better. I noticed that the 2009 is even less expensive but I'm guessing not a drop in replacement. Any comments before I commit to the 2004 13264 part?

Thanks

I dont think the 7th gen ones are compatable. Just had this done a week ago with 6th gen dropped in an 03 with no issue so far.

Thanks. It does seem unlikely it would be a drop-in.

Come on man, can't get much cheaper than that.

1 x [13264] COVER ASSY-VALVE ROCKER - Maxima (A34) 2004+ (13264-A34001) =$29.86
1 x [13270] GASKET-ROCKER COVER - Maxima (A34) 2004+ 3.5L (13270-A34001) = $7.44

Where are you finding it for this price? Courtesy Nissan wants $88

Courtesy is where I paid those prices. They're for the 04 (A34).

RTV the corners and you'll be fine after you swap.

Aint that a b^tch ...

Yeah, I got mine about 6 weeks ago, and those are the prices I paid at Courtesy, seems like they might have caught on to a trend or something. Not cool.

Try Ray or Wayne at Tricities Nissan (my local dealer): Looking at their site, it's listed as $88 and change as well.
Call them. They "might" be able to work with you.

Website: www.nissanpartsasap.com

However, I do recall Ray telling me a little bit ago they are facing significant increases across some parts soon.

Looks like it's soon.

Ray is a genuinely nice guy and very willing to help. I've ordered several parts from him and dealt with him over the phone several times. Always a good dude. I'm in California.

I didn't want to start another thread so I will bump this one. Looks like I'm late to the 04 valve cover cheap prices. Rock auto doesn't even list an 04 valve cover as an option. So is the 02 version they sell an updated design? I read all these threads about the 04 being cheaper so the prices went up that much in 2 months!!! I've searched all the obvious places so if anyone can direct me to a website with a reasonable price I would appreciate it. But maybe this is the new normal.......
