The maxima will win every time Max=211 hp to the ground and TL-S = 200 hp to the ground. Take into consideration the 6spd will be 100-130+lbs lighter than the TL-S.

Even the 5spd Altima SE would beat the TL-S, and might give the Max a run too (base on SCC)

I've taken a 2k2 TL-S out, in fact it was a real close race, he was at my tail the whole way, shut it down at about 80mph.

Cant wait till I get my Frankencar intake! Then i'll at least be modded

it seems like everytime i hear someone compare the TL-S with a maxima it's always the 6 sp. maxima--whenever people compare the maxima auto with another car's manual, the max people tend to think it's not really a fair comparison, so i would think TL-S owners would think in the same way--the 6 sp. can definitly take a TL-S and the auto shouldn't have any problems with it either

I own a 2002 TL Type S and a 2001 Maxima SE 20th Anniversary Edition. I can tell you from PERSONAL experience that the TL-S is MUCH faster 0-60 mph than the Maxima. You can believe what you hear, but I know otherwise from personal experience that the TL Type S is faster from 0-60. However, I don't know which is faster 0-60: 2002 Maxima and 2002 TL Type S??? I haven't had the pleasure of meeting a 2002 Maxima at a light yet with my Type S, but I look forward to the day. ;-)

By the way, I have my 20th AE up for sale. This car is truly for the serious Maxima enthusiast.

Hmmm... Lets see.... TLS 0-60 7.0 to 6.5 secs.... M3 = 5.2 to 4.8 secs.... Not much of a contest really

The 2k2 Max is the same speed as the TLS. The six speed is faster.

 

ok saw a tl-s with a cold air intake on it he ran a 14.8 manually shifting..... NICE TIME but here i am 3rd week driving (manual tranny)a 6 speed max and pull a 14.3 out so there r numbers for u!!! 6 speed max will kill a tl-s as for an auto.... it would still kill it stock to stock!! 14.7 stock from an auto 2k2......... 14.8 with cold air intake sorry man!

Where is this video please share it? And the Max would win based on many timeslips 14.3 6spd Max. 14.4 auto Max. Thanks for coming out!

ACTUALLY, MY COUSIN GOT THOSE FOR ME, THEY WERE USING THE 99 MAX Y-PIPE AND REMODEL THE PIPE SO THAT FITS THE 2K2 MAX AND ALSO THEY CHANGE SOME PARTS THAT ALSO FITS 2K2 MAX, IT LOOKS REALLY NICE AND THEY WERE REPLACING THE FIREBALL EXHAUSTS ON THE Y-PIPE. CUZ MY COUSIN'S GF'S BROTHER WORKS IN A MOTORSPORT PLACE CALLED "SUPER VIP" IN CA...SO..I DIDN'T GET A GOOD DEAL, COST ME ABOUT 1000 TO REMODEL THE PIPE....PLUS THE FIREBALL EXHAUSTS ANOTHER 1000...BUT LOOKS PERFECT~

AND...DONT KNOW HOW TO POST VIDEO....

The 6 speed is probably faster now.....but word on the street is the CL type S is going to have the 6 speed in March 2003 and the TL shortly thereafter, but.....by then Nissan will have redone the Maxima, so who knows. Just being a post *****.

 

when their 6speed hit the streets, we will have the new G35 infiniti or even the rumored v8 RWD Maxima.

LoL sorry it's not real, Photoshop is a photo editing program. I just took a Bomex Integra kit and put it on Drivens old Max..
