Alignment

I lowered my 02 with tein h-techs, and got new struts (KYB g's), and I have gotten it aligned 3 times in the past year and a half or so, but it seems that my tires are just being torn up. 5-7k miles before thread starts showing. Do I need to tell the alignment place that it is lowered, do I need camber bolts? It is the camber that tears them up, only inside tread wear. Also am currently replacing both control arms, and tie rods. Any feed back would be great.

Thanks!

Yeah there is a print out you get after the work showing what your alignment is and what it should be. Why didn't u get it?

What tires you have also is a huge difference cheap chinease $70 tires will wear down that fast. You probably know this but any suspension work 100% needs an alignment. NEEDS.

did you do a camber kit after lowering? often its difficult to get back into spec with the geometry changes introduced after lowering. any shop worth its salt can tell you if your setup poses a need for a camber adjustment kit.

I use khumo ecsta 4x, the place I go to has never given me a print out, but Im going to ask for one this time. But the thing that gets me is the tire wear is only on the inside, none on the outer.

I did not do any camber kit after lowering it, is there a recommended kit? Chewed through tires in 5k miles, its crazy.

Thanks for the help!

Are you saying the rears also wore out in 5k?
There is no adjustment for the rears.
I think there's something very wrong back there.

Yeah..if the wear is front and rear on inside only you have a larger problem. Teiresias won't do that. I'm lowered with Eibach springs and it's about same height and no inside or premature wear issue.

Are you sure everything was installed correctly? Not sure how one can mess it up, but your problem just doesn't sound right.

I'm lowered on Eibach springs, & I had inside tire wear on the passenger side front. I think it's probably your LCA ball-joint has gone bad.

I had all new LCAs, front axles, inner & outer tie rods, & sway bar links installed, & an alignment done--yet the car still pulls slightly to the right. The two front wheels weren't even in the wheel wells (pass. side was slightly aft compared to the driver side), so the guy had to do a special alignment for an extra $150 (Pep Boys said they couldn't even align it bc there's no adjustment for caster, so that was a waste of $90). The mechanics kept saying that the car was in a wreck or hit a curb, but it hasn't. Maybe it's the Chinese, garbage parts that I bought on eBay? I never had any comments like that before installing those parts. Maybe one of the control arms isn't straight.

Do I need a camber kit for the mild drop with Eibachs?
