wheel offset for a 2k SE?

i'm gonna need some tires soon, so i figured i'd get rims w/ them. what's the wheel offset on a 2000 SE? i'm looking at 17x8's. seems to be a pretty popular size for tires?

Actually 17x7.5" are more popular. And the offset is I believe either a 38 or 42mm. Dont matter as long as you stay in the 35-42mm range.

The stock wheel offset is 45mm. If you upgrade the width you usally want to adjust the offset as well.

The stocks are 17x7s, most new upgrades are usually 17x7.5s

To answer your question about wheel width . . .

Yes. The 7.5" width is acceptable for both both 235/45R17s and 245/45R17s. And 245/45R17s maintain a better overall geometry than 235/45R17s when compared to the stock 225/50R17s.

I'd run 245/45R17s if I were going to put 17" x 7.5" rims on my SE. And I would not run anything wider than 225s on the stock 17" x 7" rims.
