Got a weird headlight set up on my new Max....

Just bought this and am a bit perplexed at what is behind the lenses. I noticed a slight brightness and hue difference between my two low beam, decided to look under the hood and it looks like one is stock and one is some after market kit..........any thoughts??

I assume this wire on the battery is for the crappy aftermarket stereo the previous owner installed?

I am new to Xenon lights, why would there be a replacement. I like the look of the brighter light on the passenger side though......

Something must have happened to the original headlight, perhaps it got smashed. Can you tell if the car was in an accident? Whatever the reason, the headlight was replaced.

Why an aftermarket headlight was used may have been a money decision. A new headlight assembly from Nissan has a list price of $1368.58. Aftermarket lights are way cheaper, you can probably find some cheap ones for $200.

The difference in color is the bulb used in the light. But part of this could be that the bulb in the driver's side is older and bulbs will "fade" in both color and brightness as they get older.

Take both bulbs out and look at the bulb number. If you are extremely lucky, the aftermarket bulb may be the same type as the Nissan bulb and you can get a new bulb for the driver's side. A word of warning - if you take the bulbs out, don't touch the glass. If you do, clean it real, real good as the grease from your fingerprint may cause the bulb to explode when it heats up.

the "brighter" one is blueish, to each thier own, and if it is greater than 5000k color than is actually technically less output than anything stock which is 4300k.

best option replace both bulbs with philips d2r 3400k or 5000k max and done

If you want matching lights, you'll just need to order a GOOD pair of matching bulbs. Morimoto 3Five's are a good option for $42 shipped.

I have an extra oem ballast and ignitor it you would like to remove the aftermarket setup on that side.
