Interior Fan not Working

Interior Fan not Working
Hi,
I have a 2002 A33 Maxima. About 10 days ago the fan started playing up and working intermittently. This went on for a few days then I had a faint electrical burning smell at which point the fan ceased working. The air cond control panel still shows the fan speed if I turn it up or down, still shows temperatures etc and there is still cool air gently flowing from the air conditioner when the external vents are open.
I have replaced the blower resistor and checked the fuses. Still nothing. Can anyone suggest then next step?

How did the blower resistor look? Did it look fried when you replaced it?
At this point I would say the blower is your next replacement. You can verify the blower motor by connecting it to the battery directly to see if it activates.
Also, you can use a multimeter to check if you have power to the connection at the blower.

When you say "blower motor resistor", this generically refers to 2 different, non-interchangeable parts.
The manual heater controls use a blower motor resistor.
The auto climate controls use a "fan control amplifier". From your description, it sounds like you have the auto climate controls.
If you do have the correct part, then I agree with foodmanry, it is probably the blower motor itself *** UNLESS ***
If you left the fan control amplifier module hanging out on the wires and tried the fan, you probably burned the module out. They MUST BE mounted in the air duct and have air blowing on them.

I have a suggestion to try first because it's easy to check. There is a 3 wire connector grey in color above you alternator. Check and make sure those wires are all inside the connector tightly. One of my wires came loose. It was in the connector but not connecting with the pin inside. This caused my blower to stop and I believe not positive that it contributed to my ac kicking off and only blowing warm air when stationary. Not sure if the ladder is related but after taking the wire out the other side and but connecting the two together. Ice cold air at idle and stop lights. Just a thought. Not sure if this is your issue but it's something to check.
