Should I get rid of my Maxima 2000 SE

Hi I need some advice here, my Maxima SE 2000 has been rolling like a charm since I've changed starter, spark plugs, fuel pump and filter. BUT I got a flat the other day and the jack spot where I had to lift (front driver side) was so rusted and I could see it get pushed a inside with every lift, I had no choice but to keep going.

I was able to change tires but no more jacking on that spot, it's done. Im 99% sure that I did not jack at the wrong spot. Now I feel like I should get rid of it since I cant even jack the car if I get a flat.

Is there a solution to this? Am I over reacting or it's a legitimate reason to sell an otherwise functional car?

I wouldn't get rid of it.

I have a 4th gen that is VERY rusty, just carry a little 2x4 of wood with you to kinda disperse the pressure when you jack it up.

are you using the factory jack or you have a floor jack? if you have a floor jack, best place to jack for the front is that round subframe near the control arm, that's where I jack it up and if it's in the rear, I would jacked it up near the beam, near the strut bolt. Either way works pretty well for me, no rust yet, I never use the jack point, unless I am using the factory jack

Well when you are on the road and get a flat most people use the factory jack...

IMO...it might be best for you to just buy a cheap floor Jack and keep in the trunk if you ever need it. Keep an eye on the rust to make sure it doesn't get through the firewall or cabin.

Wanna trade? My gle works great but has a damn rear seal leak that's only getting worse...

Thats being A car wrecker practically if you get rid of it for that , keep it and learn to jack it from other spots....get jack stands too to be safer and you can always use the flat tires rim or the spare as extra precaution underneath.
