1 of 2 climate control lights out--how to replace?
Folks:
Light on the left side of the AC/heater control on a 2000 SE is out. I'm sure it's not difficult to remove panels; however, I thought I'd ask for pointers--before I start pulling and hoping I don't break something in the effort.
Ok so I pulled the stereo and AC/Heater controls as 2 units on one bracket. I think the LEDs that light the control panels are part of the circuit board; nothing I could see could be replaced from the outside (no bulbs, etc). Anyone know otherwise?
I replaced them some time ago...I can't remember the exact procedure but it involved pulling the unit out and popping off the faceplate. Then you can pop off the buttons covering the lights. I think the LED bulbs behind the controls are only available from Nissan. I remember they were about $5 a piece.
Do a search for auto climate bulb replacement. Someone did a write up on here.
You're almost there.
* remove the unit from the bracket by removing the 4 screws. 2 on each side. You may have to spread the brackets a little.
* Remove 4 very small silver screws on the back of the unit.
* The face will pull away revealing the circuit card.
* The bulbs mount through the circuit board. A 1/4 twist will remove them.
I actually have to do this again soon so I can do a write up if you need it.
LOL. Those look like Christmas Lights! Thanks for the details, everyone. Where would I order such bulbs? Might as well replace all of them on that unit, if they are not too expensive.

I got mine from nissan and replaced all of them when I was in there.
They will be loose when twisting to remove but much tighter when putting in the new ones (which is a good thing).
