Bottom'd out?

I took a trip up to Whistler last weekend. I had four people in the car and the trunk loaded with luggage. The rear springs had to be compressed about as far as they would go and I'm confident in saying that they have not returned to normal height since then. Any thoughts about potential damage I may have done?

In case anybody cares...the powder was nice on Friday and on Sunday...I love that place! Anybody been to the DWR since they re-modeled?

Might have blown the rear shocks... when you're driving, do you notice any extra bouncing since you had all this stuff in the car? I doubt it was the springs, springs are very tough and will outlast the car in all likelihood.

Haven't noticed anything too unusual...its just that extreme wheel gap seems to have diminished a bit. I'll try to pay more attention to the rear suspension on bumpy roads.

i saw an AE the other day, and the back look lowered, but the front didnt.. same color as yours. You might have not noticed that the 5th gen maximas back sags more then the front..

Yeah, maybe, but 7500 miles and loss of height on the rear springs/struts seems extreme.

I just got back from Whistler Last week..AWESOME! It was my first time there...and I will go back. That place goes on forever.

Anything visually odd/different about your actual shocks/struts?

Yeah, can't beat that place can you? You must go back in the summer as well. You can rent 4-wheelers and ride up Blackcomb. If you ski'd or boarded on Blackcomb, you would have seen Crystal Hut about halfway up. They do a salmon bake there in the summer, each night, for people who are ATV'ing their way up. Its a good time. Whistler is beautiful in the summer and the best place in North America in the winter.

Nothing visually odd about my struts. Couldn't tell you if there is anything "different" as I can't really recall their look before the trip...but certainly nothing odd about them. I should really try to find another 2K1 sitting on a used lot and compare the wheel gap...although that's a pretty random comparison without some details about the car I'm comparing to. Argh!
