what tire size for 18 in wheels?

I picked up some factory 18 in wheels from a 05 Maxima that came with 215-55-18 tires. Looking to replace these with some that that will not rub. What tire sizes work with 18 in wheels on a stock height 03 Maxima?

A height aspect of 40 would keep the size closest to stock

I would run 245/40/18. That's what I use on G35 coupe rims.

45 will barely rub in front on the fender liners.

I'm afraid the 40 series would ride too rough and leave a gap between fenders?

When I had my 03 SE I ran 245/45's on it and later used 235/45's with no problems at all.

So do your 245/40/18s rub at all?

I'm dropped 3 inches and have 225/45/18 and I don't rub at all, except for the right rear side, because I have 20mm spacers. On a side note, if you ever get spacers, get 15mm and not 20mm.

I also did this conversion (20-->15).

Also, one item to note is that I have 8.5" all around (all Z33 rears, +33 vs +30, 8" wide).

Nice. I'm 8" all around with a 25mm offset in the rears. I did get my rear fenders rolled last summer, and that helped stopped the rubbing when it's just me in the car going over bumps. I still can't really have anybody riding in the back though. Do you think that stepping down to a 15mm would make enough of a difference without changing the look too much?
