Right Headlight Bulb Went Out

My right headlight bulb (one of the circular bulbs)has been out for a while, about a week ago I got pulled over by a cop and written a ticket. He said the ticket would be dismissed if I get the car light fixed before the court date. So my Mom and I thought the bulb wouldn't be that much to replace, we go to Autozone, get the worst associate, she can't tell the car lights from the fog lights. The light that's out on my car is one of the circular lights, she says something about not being able to do it because it's connected to some charge thing and they need a special tool to take it out and the bulbs will cost about $100.

Then we go to another place, and this guy says we need to buy some Kit thing for $250 to check to see if a fuse is out.

I'm paid on tips and can't make that much before my court date comes. I'm not really smart about cars but no one is really making sense. The car is a Nissan Maxima, 2002. I've been doing research but haven't been getting anywhere. Does anyone know how much it would cost to replace the bulb.

I think you can replace the bulb yourself.
Here are the instructions: http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/max...placement.html .

You will also need the replacement bulbs - either high beam, or low beam, or both. I suggest getting them on e-Bay. The following two examples are just that - examples:
Low Beam: http://www.autopartsway.com/partlist.../pagenum1/tabs
High Beam: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2016-Cree-80...dWjfSq&vxp=mtr
There are many other choices, just search.

Replacing the entire headlight assembly (which you don't have to do, I hope), is even more difficult. To appreciate what it takes, watch this video:

It sounds like your low beam headlight is out. They are D2R HID bulbs. Replacing them is pretty easy but the space you need to access may be a little tight. It's best to replace both sides at the same time for the bulbs change color as they age.

Here is a thread for bulbs at a decent price. https://maxima.org/forums/5th-genera...-d2r-hids.html

From the above listed thread, these are recommended as well:

www.amazon.com/dp/B00XA3CRD2

Prime eligible. The 5500K and 6500K are $25 each.

driver side is a little more difficult to do than the passenger side. But best to order them online or else they are expensive in local stores.

I get mine on eBay for about 15$ each. Got a few extra sets if you want.
