Strut Tower Installation Problem

Hello,

My RacingLine FSTB arrived yesterday and I installed it. However, during the installation, I run into a slight hitch.

As the pictures below indicate, the bolts on the right hand side of the strut tower arm were too big, and in order to get them to fit, I had to remove a certain screw (see picture, with the arrow pointing to the screw).

So right now, I am driving around without this screw holding that little bracket.

Please let me know how if there are any ways to resolve this ... is it possible/feasible to get a shorter screw.. Or any other way to hold that bracket?

thanks - MN

You're not supposed to have a stock airbox lol. That bracket is pretty useless, anyway.

I would ignore it.

Any more clearance by flipping the bolt around? I bet different hardware would do the trick. Maybe a tappered allen head bolt and put the head of said bolt near the existing screw.

Or ditch the screw (and bracket) as stated.

thanks for both responses. I flipped the bolt around and made no difference. I can think of 2 choices...

-- a different head for the bolt
or

change the screw that goes into the airbox.

but if there is no airbox (still trying to figure this out), then any need to worry about this?

thanks - MN

I had the same problem when installing the Stillen FTB on my 2k Max. I just used a different bolt. In addition, I also turned it around.
