Bank 1 sensor 1 location on obx headers?

Bank 1 sensor 1 is the upstream right second upstream on the back header right? Is it the light blue or dark blue clip

VQ35maxima=Beast 06-03-2016 09:13 AM

If its cali spec I think B1S1 is on header closest to the firewall right before the pre-cat. should be black wire.

Maxboy23 06-03-2016 03:35 PM

Yea i see it only thing that sucks is im going to have to splice the sensor because its to short

Not sure about obx but with cattman you just needed to unclip the sensor harness from the metal piece that holds the connection in place and it was enough slack to reach the bung. You could probably carefully open the wiring harness and pull some extra out to make it reach. As only a last resort would I try to extend the wires. If you absolutely have to extend the harness side don't try to extend the sensor side it's next to impossible to do. The wires used on the sensor side are aluminum I believe and are very hard to solder correctly.

Thats a really good idea never thought of that

I did it today! Take engine cover off then cut the take bringing all the wires seperate that one sensor and tape

Good then I hope I caught you before you started cutting wires. That's the way to do it. It's easy and clean to go back to stock and there's no need to worry about soldering.

Maxboy23 06-03-2016 09:13 PM

Well that explains why my bank 1 sensor 1 light was coming on the previous owner put it in the wrong hole! Its mounted all the way at the bottom near bank 1 sensor 2 hahaha

Maxboy23 06-03-2016 09:29 PM

Anybody know what size bung weld im gonna need to cover the hole

Maxboy23 06-11-2016 08:43 AM

Wait im sorry guys i meant the one for back header

I covered my bung with an 02 replacement plug bolt thingy from napa i have an extra one! Btw the location of the o2 sensors shouldnt matter as long as the primaries are plugged in your car should run fine right now i have 2nd sensor bank 2 completely of my car and it runs fine just the CEL but pnce i get the o2 simulator i should be fine.

Maxboy23 06-11-2016 06:04 PM

Oh ok thats good to know i had to splice the second upstream the one in the front fit fine the one in the back was to short

Exactly. The secondary o2 sensors are just there to monitor the cats for emissions. They don't affect the tune. You could unplug them all together and the only effect would be a CEL.

Maxboy23 06-12-2016 11:09 AM

So is there a way to connect the second upstream on back header without splicing the sensor to extend it

Yes I explained how to do that already above.

Maxboy23 06-12-2016 12:26 PM

Would you be able to get a picture for me?

So we're both on the same page. You're asking about the firewall #1sensor correct?

Maxboy23 06-12-2016 02:03 PM

Yea lol the other guy confused me because i just noticed he had a picture of the front upstream

Ok I'll get a picture but off the top of my head I know they're located by the pcv valve. I believe it's a light blue (not positive) connector. Give me 30 min I'm grilling some steak and I'll get a picture.

Maxboy23 06-12-2016 03:21 PM

Yea thats the one

Mattx 06-12-2016 03:34 PM

Ok so here's all I did. See the metal post in first picture? That's what sensor is mounted on.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/kdjiymbgu7...28.35.jpg?dl=0

Remove it from the post once I did that I had plenty of slack.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/gka3jt3rlq...27.14.jpg?dl=0

Now it just lives there. If you need slack just peel back harness tape pull slack out. Doesn't get any easier.

Maxboy23 06-12-2016 03:57 PM

Oh now i see thanks

Mattx 06-12-2016 04:12 PM

No problem did it work for you?

Maxboy23 06-12-2016 04:13 PM

Yes mow all i have to do now is fix the stupid p0705 problem transmission range sensor what eever that is -______- i replaced the neutral safety switch the light still comes on the guy at autozone sayed its not saying the sensor is the problem its saying there is low voltage so im guessing maybe a wire on the harness is bad

Check the ground wires that's where I would start.
