Anyone wanna race a Sentra?

I'm in the Austin area on the weekends, and have raced your member Russ2kse once from a roll with bad results Now that I have another mod since then I'd like to see where I stand with a big bro in the Nissan family. Looking for stock or slightly modded competition here's the mods to my car:

Place Racing C/A/I
Stromung Full Catback Exhaust
Hotshot Gen 5 Header
SMC Kwik Shift Kit

I ran a 15.65@91 with intake/exhaust back last track season, I'd be interested to see where I fair against the 5th gen crowd. Any takers?

haha, the maxima owners so sure of themselves. I wouldn't mine taking on a new 2k2 six speed or a 2k1 5 spd. Any takers in the central texas area? I should be in low low 15's to high 14's.......

sorry..but if u ran a 15.6, that's already considerably slower than us..i ran 15.1 with just an intake...

and uh..as far as the 2k2 6speed...uh..no..just don't...

if u had a SR20DET conversion, then it's going to be close..otherwise..u're probably not gonna see high 14 timeslip unless u NOS it...

You have to realize, that I ran the 15.56@91 with intake and exhaust only, on street tires. I should be heading back to the track soon, my friend in a 92 mr2t cut a 15.1@91 stock, now with intake,BOV, Boost controller @ 12psi, we were dead even. Irvine, what kind of times have you ran at the track? So much talk and so little action, all I want is a couple races with any of you all.

an SR20DE with intake/cams/headers/ecu/exhaust will put you in low 14's.. i suggest you do that first.. you already have headers .. intake and exhaust..

so if cams and ecu are your new mods.. then you will give a stock 2k2 6spd a run for its money

you think a header will shave .6-.7 off your time?

This guy wasn't even flaming. He just wants a friendly race, geez. If you don't think he can run what he says, go visit him and take it to a track. Sheesh.

Why dont you start **** elsewhere, ok? Go race like normal people do - by meeting someone up at a stoplight and revvin' a few. Who tries to hook a race up on the internet?? I mean really....

Hey 01SR20DE, too bad I'm like 3000km away, cuz I would have accepted your invitation, not because I'm arrogant with my 2K1SE but mainly for the fun of it, any racers win and lose sometimes so this aspect doesn't really matter to me. A friend of mine was challenging me for sometimes to race with him and his MR2 ( not the most recent model...) My though was, euhm I'm going to lose, a sedan versus a small 2 doors sporty car, I finally agree to race with him, we had many run and lots of fun even if I actually smoked him all days, I did not lost a single run with him that day, but you know what, he's buying an M3 and soon we are going to race again and I know next times he's going to smoke me, but eh who care it is just for fun.

Cheers

DoubleA

Exactly! I'm not claiming to be the best out there all I want is a race to see where I stand against the maxima crowd. I'm not afraid to lose but it seems like everyone on here is. I see a lot of ricer logic flying around here, this car runs this xx time so since you have the same motor and less mods you will run xx time. Just give me a shot, and what happens, happens.

I have no idea what's going on in this thread. Normally, I would have expected somebody to take you up on this quickly. Just hang in there and let everybody get their first drink of the evening in them and maybe this thread will return to normal.

chances are he has a JWT ECU and CAMS.. like i said before.. that puts him low 14's..

and no 2000 - 2001 modded 5spd is going to hang with him.. no unless the car is boosted or NOS..

he is trying to sucker you guys.. kinda like a pool shark

that would be correct if JWT had actually released the cams, or even began to think about starting on the ECU! No nitrous for me, I don't have enough money for a mistake if there was one so I'm staying N/A. Why is it so hard to believe that I want to race a maxima?

if you have a SR20DE you can use the 97 ECU from the 200 SX-SER

and JUN makes cams and a host of engine mods for the SR20DE

so don't come here sandbagging

Jun cams are out the butt expensive, and I can use the 97 ECU if I make my own adapter...which ain't gonna happen. I SWARE I AM NOT SANDBAGGING! Russ2kse has seen my car before my current mod (header) and can attest to the fact that I'm not hiding anything. I'm a poor college student, I can't afford cams, yet.....

Ok, where exactly in TX are you? If you want you can meet up with use H-town folks at the Baytown Raceway this Friday. You'll have a handful of 2k2's (to my knowledge) with various mods to play with

I was hoping for someone to come check out our scene this sat. night. I would be more than happy to come to baytown, but i work fri/sat/sun every week. Are there any big Maxima meets coming up? I was going to go to the RCR one but it fell thru!

Where ya at? SA? Austin? D/FW?

Anyhow, doubt if anyone can make it this weekend. Seems a couple of the guys are getting their VB mod done. I, on the other hand, may be putting on the springs.

No other meet that i know off. It's usually an impromptu thing. (kinda)
