Ok well I been having engine starting problem & today it hit big....the car wouldnt start at all. I so pi$$ed b/c I was late for work. I did call my nissan dealer I bought it from & they said it could be the battery but I remember another thread here stating it has nothing to do w/ battery......There was another thread that I cant find that someone had Nissan change a part & it starts perfect but cant find thread....Need to know what it is or what I should request.....Thanks in advance if you can help

My 2 cents...probably not even worth that much...
I just had my dealer service several items under warranty...one of which was trouble starting the car...The problem arose from the clutch having to be pushed in all the way to the floor and beyond...it got to the point to where we had to stand on the clutch. They did a readjustment of the clutch pedal, and solved the problem. do you have a 5spd?

bah!

been on diagnostic 3 times.. no avail. it didnt throw any codes, so the dealer really couldnt/wouldnt offer much help.

Take it in, but just don't set your expectations too high.

Now, I start the car differently. I never run the car for less then 3-5 minutes. I will actually wait until its warmed up, even if just moving it a few feet. (not totally warm, but you get the picture). I also drag the starter alot longer (probably 2x longer than I would on my old honda). I've decided I would rather have the starter/battery prematurely fail than get stranded. So far, I havent had a problem in over a year. that and my car as more miles now. that also seems to help, more than 6K miles

Tell them it's your Bendix spring on your starter. It might help, but you'll probably get denied. Or remove your stock airbox and replace the whole damn thing. I'm thinking about it.

me too

I have a 2k1 max 5spd w/ a PRCAI. I have been having trouble starting the thing too. The only thing is, its seems to have nothing to do w/ whether or not the car is warm/cold or if its been ran in a while or not. Its just sporadic that it won't start immediately. ie...I have the clutch all the way in (or it won't crank at all...this is normal) and then I turn the key and it takes more than a few seconds to start. Again, this is sporadic. I'm afriad taht if I take it to the dealer that they'll tell me to go away b/c of the PRCAI...though of course, I doubt this is the problem. Again, this is sporadic...and if I take it to the dealers odds are they won't notice it. 9+/10 starts are fine. Any ideas?

btw...I do like the PRCAI...and I've driven in some NASTY rainstorms and have had no trouble :-D

If you're under warranty, let h*ll loose!!! It is their responsibility under the warranty!
