Passenger window dosent work, motor is good
I am stumped, im very tech savvy. But I have a huge brain fart and can't think what is the issue, ok... I just got a passenger window switch and the switch isn't the problem, I searched for fuses and only found one window fuse inert the hood and it was a good fuse. All the windows work from every door expect passenger, even driver controls the passenger window and door lock dosent work on the driver side, I checked the connectors on the passenger switch. And used a multimeter I also hooked up a jumper wire to the window and it rolled down and up just fine. Can someone help me figure this out I can't find anything online or on any forums about this problem or even on YouTube.
Try disconnecting the master switch at the driver's door. I had a problem where the master switch was always sending the window up on our Sienna. Had nothing to do with the motor or the individual door switch.
Thanks I'll try that. I got a passenger switch and it still didn't work. , went to the junk yard and all the maximas there had the driver side switch gone so maybe that's the issue is from the driver side ,wonder if there is a resistor or component in the board that I could re solder or replace something to get it to work
Naw I disconnected it , it didn't work. The components on the board look fine maybe somet small resistor or something. Not sure what the issue is it makes me angry cuz I can usually fix anything electrical. Hope someone knows why this is happening
Could the regulator just be replaced? And the motor still be good? I tested the motor and the motor rolls it up and down but I hooked it to a jumper wire.to the switch to the connector pins and it worked. I'll take a picture of what I hooked it up to
Videos are showing the window needs to be down to replace the regulator, well the problem is I can't get the window to go down lol, I used a jumper wire from a hot pin on one of the connectors and touched the other pins until the window went down but would the window even go down with a bad regulator?
You mention the door lock not working. That is separate and there are other reasons that can happen. I recently had to replace the rear door lock motor because it would unlock but not lock.
If you ping me I can email you the pages from the ESM that cover the schematics for the windows.
Ok so I took my door panel back off to just try once again to get it to work and I unhooked the new switch I got and hooked the old switch back up car is on and I plugged the old switch back into the connector and pressed the down button and the window rolled down.... but won't roll back up and the door lock dosent work?... something is really weird here..
I'm thinking there is a wire switched or something because the switch is still clicking when the car is off and keys out of the ignition the switch clicks when I press down but won't do anything when I try to roll it up. Is there connector schematics I can look at to see what color wire goes into which pin
Update :
Ok so switch wasn't clicking in the passenger side, then I took a jumper wire connected the 2 blue wires and the switch illuminates and only illuminates when pressing down the auto down will keep clicking in the motor until I pull up on the switch then stops but switch dosent illuminate or make any switch sound when pressing up. Tried to read the diagram on the wiring for the window but it didn't make any sense to me. And driver side dosent do anything to the passenger window nor do door lock buttons work..... I have to figure this out! My brain is about to explode
