Magnaflow 6x18 for 3" exhaust

I'm considering buying a 3" brm catback without resonator and muffler. Is a magnaflow 6x18 good enough to quiet down my exhaust? 6x30 would be best but I can get a good deal on a 6x18. Im also still thinking about a mf knockoff for a muffler.

I have unequal obx headers.

People whine about volume and drone so much that you ought to go big. *wonders about two 18s stuck together*

I have 3" cattman and it's fine to me, but most don't agree.

The challenge with exhaust-sound opinions is its subjectivity. To some a 3" "loud" is perfect volume, to others 3" "loud" is too loud.

What do you have now, after your obx headers & ypipe?

I'm one of those whiners. I like my 3" system quiet as possible. I first went with the 6x18 magnaflow because everyone said that was super quiet. Meh. So I went with the magnaflow 6x30 and that was a little better for drone. I learned thru all of this that the muffler is what's going to make things quiet, not the resonator. But then you lose flow when you try and go quiet. So what do you choose? Flow or quiet?

I chose both by going with this:

Expensive, but awesome. Wife thinks I went back to stock muffler (she hated the noise), and I pretty much keep the valve open when I'm not in a subdivision or business parking lot. Best of both worlds. The sound when open is exactly the same as cattman's muffler. Closed it's just a tab bit louder than stock. This will be it's first winter so we'll see how it does with the salt.

I have stock exhaust after headers/y. I thought I was going to stop there but now I want more powah. Guess I should get 6x30.

Bigger the muffler the better. Idk what the max maximas can fit down there but I like the 24''.

IMHO, the res will help with drone, not a lot with overall volume, if that makes any sense. It's the muffler that will quiet things down. But for max power, you'll want a straight-thru muffler which means louder. It's always a trade off.

Unless you want both, then get varex or put in a electronic controlled cutout.

IMHO, a 3" setup sounds great. I only wanted quieter at certain times, but definitely not all the time.

FYI you'll have to lose the middle cross brace if you go with the 6x30. I didn't notice a difference in handling, but I'm pretty sure it's for side-impact accidents and I haven't had one of those yet so I can't speak for the difference with it gone.

The muffler I am looking at is jones exhaust max flo 2588. It is 5x11x22 28 overall length. I think that is bigger than the muffler provided in the brm catback. If I don't go with the 6x30 resonator how about a 35" long perforated glasspack? Also, any ideas on dynomax vt? I only saw one thread/video and he was boosted.

I want something reasonable in sound. I don't want to wake my neighbors at 5am but I don't want it to sound stock either.
