Convert from HID to standard halogen
Convert from HID to standard halogen
My 2002 Maxima SE has factory HID headlights & I'd like to convert to aftermarket halogen. I see plenty of info regarding converting from halogen to HID, but not the other way. Didn't know if there's an easy, straightforward way to do this?
LOL..good one
I guess it does sound backassward?! I've restored the headlights but it still doesn't compare with crisp, clean new housings. HID units are in the $400+ range/pair vs >$200 for halogen.

I was just on eBay looking at headlights. New halogen housings are $70 for the pair. You can get aftermarket halo's for $150. Just go that route. Or go to car-part.com and try and find a clean pair of used ones.
Not to mention that there will be a gap in the bumper if you use the 2000-01 headlight housings.
