HID headlight throw

I followed the steps in the FSM to aim my lights and while they're much better now, they still don't shine as far down the road as HIDs in other cars. Is this just a limitation of the factory reflector lenses? The cutoff also isn't that clean.

The bulbs are year old Morimoto 4300Ks and the lenses are nice & clean.

Cutoff sucks, I have mine far out, It illuminates fine. Projector retrofit will fix your solution

Necroposting here. I've given the car to my nephew to drive so I only see it like once a month now. Like I said in the OP, I aimed the lights last year but the downroad throw still isn't as good as it should be. I polished the fog lights the other day and they put out a lot more light now, enough that it almost overshadows the low beams lol

The lows are technically aimed correctly, but should I raise them up more? 03VQMAX said he did that but I don't want to blind other people. Since my nephew drives the car I want to make sure everything is safe.

The lenses are clean but look to be be factory, so maybe aiming the bulbs up is needed to compensate for internal wear and tear over time...?

How old are your bulbs? Original?

The housings are not great but if your bulbs are several years old, a new pair will help out a ton.
