02 Sensor

Is Bank 1 Sensor 1 02 sensor upstream left or right? I know where its located, just don't know what part to buy.

Bank 1 Sensor 1 is in the back exhaust manifold near the firewall. The two upstream sensors should be the same, they have light blue plug harnesses with 3 pins. It's a PITA to get to. I've had the most success changing out by first removing the exhaust manifold covering, loosening the sensor from the top with an O2 sensor socket and ratchet extension, and then removing and reinstalling from underneath the car through the passenger side wheel well. You'll be able to slide your hand right in from the side with car jacked up, wheel removed right above steering linkages.

Perfect, Thanks for the tips, no need to pay a mechanic!

I have the same question. The parts store list them as right or left. I get the upstream / downstream thing. So, did you find that the B1-S1 02 sensor was right and downstream? I need to replace it too, according to the error code P0137 I get. Thanks in advance for your response. Appreciated!

Sensor 1 is upstream
Sensor 2 is downstream
Bank 1 Is the RIGHT bank, it is next to the firewall and has cylinders 1, 3 and 5
Bank 2 is the LEFT bank, it is by the radiator and has cylinders 2, 4 and 6.
