Squeaky Clutch Pedal - 6 Speed

Hi guys,

I DID search, until I got a headache. I even thought I found someone who said they did a write up on this, but the links they gave for the .ORG are now redirecting to completely unrelated things. At any rate -

My clutch pedal squeaks, has for a long time, but now I want to pull the assembly and replace the bushings. I *hear* that's probably what's causing the noise.

Does anyone have a write up for the 5th gens? I saw one for 3rd gens, but that doesn't seem to match up at all.

Now, if the assembly doesn't have to come out and someone knows a better way, I'm all for that, too.

Thanks,

Jack

I've had the assembly apart but it's just one of those things you have to do. There's really not that much to it. The spring can be a pain.

I didn't pull the whole assembly. I just replaced the bushings in the car.

I made some bushings out of brass on my small lathe. Works great.

You could get a spray can of white lithium grease and hit it with that. That should quiet it down for a while.
